From tap. Pours dark brown to black. Small tan head. Aroma is thick malty. Overripe fruity, roadted to slight chocolately. Dark roasted. Lingering dark malty. Bitter, hardroasted. Solid malty and liqourice like finish.

Tap at Skaal, Copenhagen 16/08/2023 Roasted and smoked malty with notes of cocoa, dark fudge and caramel, caramelised brown sugar, full bodied, bourbon laced malty finish. Good stuff but not up there with many of the previous versions for me.

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, wood, bourbon, snd smoke. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, wood, alcohol, and smoke, leading to a bitter finish.

25th January 2022 Panda. Big thanks to Mr Tipple and Theydon Bois for getting the beer I brought to a tasting and failed to drink all the way back to me a few days later. Opaque dark brown beer, small dark tan bubbly head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Somewhat thin dark malts but bringing a tidy amount of dark chocolate. Trace of chocolate cake. The bourbon barrel brings a bitterish vibe that is half bitter bourbon and half bitter woody barrel. Light finish. It's a tidy BB affair and goes down easy but it is nothing out the ordinary at all, nothing special. Sadly even this modest standard seems well beyond this once great brewery these days.

200ml draught at BrewDog, Oslo. Pitch black body, dotted spots on the glass, shiny naked surface. Inviting aromas of cocoa, chocolate, and liquorice. Well balanced taste of chocolate malts, biscuit, liquorice, and molasses, underlying bourbon vibes. Long-lived, rounded malt driven finish, slightly roasted. Pleasant sipper, well bodied. (Oslo 19.01.2022).

Bottle from my basement. Plum and dark chocolate on a nose. Taste of plum, dark chocolate. Does not feel boozy at all. Very well done. Nice

Well stored bottle. Black body under a small beige head. Aroma is dominated by dark malt and alcohol/Bourbon. Taste is sweet dark malt, dark chocolate, caramel, dry fruit and boozy Bourbon. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste. Sure a bold one, not bad but somehow a bit one dimensional on the boozy big beer stuff.

Dunkel malziger Geruch, etwas Dung. Malzig-schokoladiger Beginn, wenig alkoholisch, wässrige Bourbonnoten, Vanille. Wässrige Bitterschokolade im Mittelteil, trockene Herbe, milde Röstaromen. Vollmundig, geringe Süße, zunehmender Alkohol von geringem Level aus. Langer malziger Abgang. Gut. 9/12/13/12/11/12

375ml bottle. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of whisky, roast malts, liquorice, dark chocolate. Taste is sweet, roast malts, dark chocolate, liquorice, whisky barrel, bitter, very boozy finish. Medium body. Good but doesn't hit the heights of Paradox Uncle Duke's.
