Can at DRBT 10. Pours a dark brown with medium beige head. The aroma is spice, dark fruit, wood, yeast. Slick body, raisin, bready malt, wood, boozy finish, very good.

Aluminum can provided by Cara + Tom. 2017 vintage. Sweet raisins, bread, English toffee, slight dates. Alcohol is totally hidden. Decent body, not sticky sweet or syrupy at all. Reminds me more of a barley wine profile then a Belgian quad. But it all really works out.

2017 can/bottle weird thing, drunk 12/8/18.
Crystal clear, dark chestnut with a small, beige head showing low retention.
Smells nice and candy-like with light red fruit, caramel, toffee, taffee and hints of banana and cotton candy. But balanced with no big sugar and lots of dry crystal character. No alcohol, somehow.
A bit of DMS in the mouth, it seems, beany and chocolatey with caramel, toffee, light fruit and crystal malt galore. Very attenuated somewhat malty with very low, somewhat loose carbonation. Not boozy but a bit bready, hard and candy-like.

Can. Deep amber body. Beige head. Aroma of overripe dark fruit, alcohol, plum, raisin, caramel, biscuit. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Taste of raisin, plum, brown sugar, hot alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. less sweetness would help, but good flavors and aromas.

On tap at Haymarket’s Sun King. Pours a hazy deep amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has grains and caramel with underlying dark fruit and Belgian yeasts. Flavor starts with sweet grains and caramel that last throughout the beer and is backed by dark fruits and light Belgian yeast.

Metallic chestnut colour, little or no head. Vinous nose with fusels, strawberry aroma and sweet-alcoholic smelling. Fusels returning in the flavour; sweet taste with Crème Anglaise, vanilla, alcohol and a vague impression of wood. Very slick, well bodied and rewarding palate. Nice!
