Brewed with BrewDog Castlegate for Collabfest 2018

This fruited pale ale, benefits from the addition of over 100 kg of local cherries and raspberries before being hopped with Ekuanot and Motueka to heighten the overall fruit flavour. Big aromas of red berries, full creamy body and a lingering dryness.

Appearance - cloudy golden amber. Thin head. Nose - burnt bread, light sulphur. Taste - blood orange and pink grapefruit. Still a burnt bread note. Palate - creamy and close to medium bodied. Dry almost astringent finish. Overall - disappointing given the name.

On tap at BrewDog Soho Collabfest 2018. Hazy pink orange colour like a Cocteau Twins single cover lasting white head. Some fruit. Not an obvious kettle sour. Sweetish fruit. Some raspberry some sweet peach or ripe apricot. Pretty good fruit. I liked it.

Keg at BD Bar. It pours cloudy deep orange with a medium foamy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet - sour, mellow raspberry vibes, bit of lemony zingy, lactic edge and wood. The taste is firmly dry, earthy, woody, leather, musty, funk, raspberry pip, peach skin, apricot stone, pithy citrus, hay and leather with a drying, sort of funky finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Not as sour as hoped, more woody and funky. Ok.
