Bottle shared in Hackney - cheers to Tipple. Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. Great aroma, big peat, roast, cocoa. Medium sweet flavour, with notes of ash, bitter cocoa, torched meat, loads more peat. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Great balance to finish, rich chocolate, cake, peat, smoke. Outstanding.

Bottle thanks to Tipple. It pours deep dark brown - black with a medium light tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, peat reek, medicinal, vanilla, oak, rocky road and cocoa. The taste is dry, bitter, rich roasted malt, tangy dark fruits, toasty, wood, smoked action, peat, bit of spice, cranberry and some alcohol warmth with a woody and medicinal finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Works rather well.

Tap at Blackwell Opening. Pours darkest brown with a soft beige foam. Aroma is peat, ash, tar, like an Ardbeg whisky. Body is medium, rather sweet, fruity, soft carbonation, smooth texture. Lingering ash palate. Good! Really light but still with a full taste, easy to drink without getting boring.
