It is a mid-strength stout, with a focus on a soft and round malt character. It welcomes you with cedar and citrus zest aromas mixed with an upfront sweetness of orange chocolate. The cedar tannins provide structure to the rich finish, followed by a gentle but heated kiss by the chillies.
Malt: Best Pale, Brown, DRC, Chocolate, Carafa Sp. 2, Malted Wheat, Flaked Oats
Yeast: WLP 540, US-05
Hops: Columbus

330ml can. Spicy, stingy and roasty with some soapy notes, chili, cinnamon and loads of orange peel chocolate Jaffa cookie notes. A bit strange combination but works surprisingly well.

Can (thanks to denk) at home. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized dark brown colored head. A bit fizzy head though it appear, which diminishes quickly. Aroma is oddly sweetish, definitely zesty. Flavor is malts, again zesty / sweetish orange notes. dark malts, chillies indeed. Reminds me of some weird orange-ish cookie, pretty well known in The Netherlands but I can't remember what they're called. Decent body, thin texture, average to medium carbonation. Mwah.

Can on the Looe Brush ... 47537 & 826 ... picked up online, 03/02/19. Black topped with a decent tan cap. Nose is chocolate, orange zest, spice, hint of green pepper, mellow roast. Taste comprises cacao nibs, charr, liquorice, spice, hint of green chilli, bitter sweet roast. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough offering for a spiced stout.

Can shared with JMD and SM on board Fridtjofen 03.12.18. Ebony. Dense and persistent brown head and lacing. Aroma of orange chocolate, biscuits and pine. Taste of chili, roasted barley, jam and chocolate. Chili is lingering on.

Shared 330 ml can. ABV 7.6%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of orange chocolate and Jaffa Cakes. The flavour is not too sweet, but has still distinct notes of orange chocolate. Some chili burn in the finish. Moderate hops, well balanced. Good beer.

Kveldens beste.

Can sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Max & Stas. Black. Lots of orange zest, chocolate, roast, wood, sweet, some hot chili in the finish. Too much orange and chili. Not my thing.

Tried at the stoneworks Beavertown Tap takeover. Peterborough. Jet black colour with a thick tan head. Lots of chocolate and oranges in the aroma. Hints of chilli. More chilli spicy and light bittersweet taste. Chilli builds but not too much. Smooth rich body.
