The piccolo is a herbal triple of 8.5% alcohol volume. This beer contains seven different spices, giving it a full body and a golden yellow color. The aromas of thyme and oregano make this beer truly unique.
The triple has a taste of thyme, lavender and oregano and has a fine bitter aftertaste. Combine this beer with a barbecue and you will immediately experience a heavenly spicy taste sensatio.
Till May 2021 brewed at 't Gaverhopke.

Bouteille 33cl.

04/07/2015 @home - 33cl bottle from a trade with tderoeck. Blond-orange colour with big white head. Nose : very spicy (I would say thyme), malts, Taste : overwhelming spice (thyme), malts, fruits, sweet. In the beginning surprising, but after a while not so pleasant anymore

Courtesy of tderoeck. Apparently a commissioned beer brewed at Gulden Spoor. Pours a deep orange colour with tons of dead yeast chunks at the bottom; stable and lacing, moussy, frothy, yellowish white head. Unusual and, frankly, weird aroma of cooked cauliflower, fried salmon, ’old’ tomato sauce, yoghurt, ’soft’ paprika, venison (hare!), old cardboard, wilted flowers, touch of lemon zest, passion fruit, bell pepper soup, sourdough, bisque d’homard, fish broth, fish sauce, cooked eggplant, mango. Taste begins with an unusual kind of salty sweetness, hints of exotic fruits, honeyish with medium carb, smooth caramelly but clearly oxidized maltiness, some cardboard, with a drying alcohol effect setting in quickly, adding insult to injury; quite harsh finish of wodka-like, astringent alcohol, lingering caramelly malts and retronasal presence of baked eggs; hops are only noticeable in the background. A tingling feeling of incompleteness (not to mention alcohol wryness!) is the last thing I get from this. I guess this ale, despite being 8.5% ABV, is to be consumed only in its youth... A shortcoming if you ask me, apart from the tomato and bell pepper smell which I can hardly call inviting. Dead yeast chunks rule here - and they are not my friends. There is a lot of work to be done here, I think...

1/XI/14 - 33cl bottle from the brewer @ home - BB: n/a, bottled: X/2013 (2014-1279) Thanks to Tim, Belle, Melissa and Bene for getting the beer to me! Longest beer chain I ever set up! ;-)
Little cloudy amber beige beer, creamy irregular yellowish head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit oxidized, some almonds, sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very spicy, oregano or thyme or something, caramel, bit sweet, chemical touch (rubbery?), fruity hop notes. Aftertaste: bitter, fruity, little chemical, very spicy, some banana and yeast.
