On tap at Russian River brewing. Pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is pine roast malts and some sweetness. taste is more of the pine citrus hops and roast malts along with a bitterness on the end.

Growler from Russian River. Nose is light amounts of grapefruit, pumpernickel bread, and chocolate malt. Clear dark brown with a small, lightly lacing, beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter with a very malty, slightly sweet backdrop. Interesting take on a Black IPA.

On tap at beer revolution, Oakland. Dark mahogany brown/ black coloured pour with a lasting sticky light tan head. Aroma is caramel and toffee malts with a hint of roast, toasted pine, dry pine, rounded malts. Flavour is composed of pine needle, roasted grains with some toffee, toffee pine. Tap. Pours clear mahogany, small beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is roasty grapefruit, pine. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, nice balance of roast, grapefruit and citrus perfume. Lightish body. Solid.
