On tap at the Brewpub. Black with a small tan head. A pleasant one with mango, light roasted malt and pineapple. Medium body and bitterness. The finish was rather dry.

Draft. Dark brown/blackish beer with a tan head. Light grapefruit and light pine aroma. Grapefruit and roast flavor with chocolate. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and pine lingers with roast, caramel, and light chocolate.

[1/27/16] Draught at City Beer in San Francisco. Dark brown to black. Aroma of roast, licorice, piney hops. Flavor has sweetish malt, roast, a bit of chocolate, licorice, bitter piney hops. Medium-bodied.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head. The nose has mellow roast, minerals, burnt pine. Medium sweet flavor with burnt toast, mellow cocoa, scorched earth, pine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly roasty on the finish, some piney resin, a little earth, cocoa, orange peel. Not bad.

Draught at Russian River. Opaque black liquid with small to medium light tan head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, citrus, tangerine, light grain and mango. Taste is very light sweet and medium bitter with notes of coffee, citrus, pine and licorice. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Great!

Keg at the brewpub, 03/02/15. Black with a solid tan covering that retains well. Nose is pine needle, trace of liquorice, earthy hop, red berry notes. Taste comprises light charr, cocoa rub, pine needle, dusty hop, Ribena berry. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Xolid XDA.

Black with a medium sized beige head, lots of sticky lacing. Aroma of pine resin and toasted malts. Taste is pine and citrus

Draft at RR: Poured black with a light beige head. Nice hops aroma. Hits you with hops but nice roasty malt backbone.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is pine, roast, anise. Medium mouth, light roast, dark fruit, light bitter finish, very nice.

Draft - Piney, almost minty and some roast. Jet dark brown with a decent light brown head. Roasty malts and pony hops in nice harmony. Not quite enough bitterness, but nice.
