Bottleshare at CBJ. Thanks to Fergus for the bottle. A mild haze on this dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin dry dark malts. Thin dark chocolate and coffee. A little spice and ripe fruits. Lame.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: jet black in the glass with a finger's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely and left some light lace
Aroma: big milk chocolatey tones, coffee sweet and coffee roasty tones, some blueberry & black currants sweet & tart aspects, and a light animal cracker maltiness further underneath
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a sweet to roasty quality which rides into the finish the same way
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper; very nice smoothness and a touch of creaminess on the tongue
Overall: a wonderful impy stout very worthy of coming back to.

500ml bottle. Vintage 2022. Dark brown pour. Small tan head dissipates to a scant ring . Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Flavor is more of the same. Roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, black currants and resiny hops. Very little carbonation. Warming alcohol in middle. Finishes dry and roasty.

Bottle (2023 version) pour shared by Steve. Opaque inky black with large light brown foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt with coffee, baker's chocolate, caramel, currants and blueberry--everything they said it should be. Taste is initial blueberry/currant, then roasted malt with coffee and baker's chocolate. Smooth, creamy texture with decent body, soft carbonation and finish as taste with roasty bitter finish. No sign of alcohol. Nice complexity (aroma > taste) for non-adjunct stout with exceptional mouthfeel.

Bottle pour at source: pours black with beige head. Some sauce of soy, light booze, chocolate. Taste is relatively dry, slightly boozed. Good.
