Keg at the brewpub, 01/02/16. Murky amber with a decent beige cap. Nose is bourbon infused, rich fruits, spice, sharp berries, wood must. Taste comprises dark fruit rinds, sharp fruit tang, bourbon lighter than the nose, spice, damp wood, toffee, berry fruit linger. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok but doesn't really pull in any particular direction ... American Strong, Spice Herb Veg and a sour all rolled into one ... rather muddled !

Draft at Sonoma Springs. Nose is vanilla, bourbon, and a red wine note, like they aged part in red wine barrels. Hazy light brown with a medium lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet, with lots of Barrel character, mostly bourbon but with the hint of wine.

Draft a the brewpub. Hazed murky dark orange, no head. Aroma is woody sour. Socks, lemon raspberry. Flavour is woody mould, lemon sour. Onion, brown sugar. Palate is spritzy. Sour. Semi sweet. Moderate carbonation.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy orange with no head. The aroma is strong whiskey and wood. Thin mouth, boozy, vinegar, infection?

Draft at the brewery. Pours clear, rich gold with a slim white head. The nose has some acetic fruits, spicy grains, light pine. Light sweet flavor with mellow acetic burn, berries, lemon. Medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Tart berry finish, mildly acetic, some bready sugars. Not excellent. Should it be sour?

Draught at Sonoma Springs. Almost clear amber liquid with minimal white head. Aroma of wood, vinegar, scotch, light lemon and grain. Taste is very light sweet, light bitter and light sour with notes of lemons, vinegar, wood and grain. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Ugh.

Pours cloudy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel,vanilla, rye, whisky, wheat, banana and wood. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long vanilla, banana and wood finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. A hazy brown beer one, with a small, off-white head. The aroma is a bit unusual, but nice, with a little vanilla and rye spiciness, some banana like in a German hefe, and a faint perfumed touch. Full body, soft on the palate. A bit sweet in the flavor though. Long, sweet finish. Yet another nice one from this tiny operation. 130807
