Tap at SF Beer Week Opening Gala. Pours cleae yellow. Ah, here come the Belgians. A Triple indeed, sweet, but rather unrefined. Body is medium, also sweet, with a low bitterness and a lively carbonation, but it’s not adding up. Candy palate, too long for its flavours. Quite okay.

Keg at the brewpub, 29/01/16. Clear golden with a decent off white head. Nose is caramel, sweet malt, trace of lemon, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises Belgian yeast esters, straw, caramel, sweet licks. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light warming boost in the close. Ok for style ... The sweetometer doesn’t go to mental !

Draft at the Marin brewing company larkspur. Clear golden yellow coloured pour with a lasting white froth. Aroma is decent clean Belgian yeast, some spicy hop, coriander, orange. Flavour is composed of quite sweet grains, orange and spicy hop, hint of medicinal hop, a bit too sweet. Palate is semi sweet, highish carbonation, semi drying spicy finish. OK triple, but what is the point in a triple.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very hazy apricot color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered. The aroma was sweet and tangy peach, pear, sugar and sourdough bread. The flavor was sweet cherry, sourdough bread, honey, pear, peach and sugar. Medium length tangy bread, pear and sugar finish. Moderately full bodied. Nice.

Bomber pours hazy copper with gold hues and off white head. The aroma is spicy with Belgian yeast and it also has light notes of sugary sweet malts, pears, peach and apples. The taste has a bold punch of yeasty Belgian spices along with pears apples and peach skins. Midway and into the finish it picks up a sort of sweet tangerine citrus note to go along with everything else. It is bold in the right places and doesn’t seem to expose its ABV. Nice brew.
