Keg at the brewpub, 29/01/16. Murky mahogany brown with a decent tan cap. Nose is dark fruit rinds, light spice, Belgian yeast esters, toffee, dates. Taste comprises tangy dark fruit, boozey Xmas cake, yeast trace, toffee, light spice, raisens, dried dates. Medium + body, fine carbonation closing with a tangy dark fruit rinse. So so ... unrefined - too bitter and sharp in places.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours deep amber-brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds plums and prunes, faint toffee. Medium to big sweet flavour, with more toffee, ripe berries, plum, candi sugar, fruitcake, bread. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, with further rich and ripe fruits, toffee, bread. A good and drinkable. quad.

On tap @ brewpub during RateBeer weekend, January 2016. Cloudy reddish brown appearance with a creamy brown head. Plum, raisin, grape, caramel. Moderate high sweetness. Moderate low bitterness. A bit twangy. Candy sugar and caramel, especially in the flavor. Ok but a little muddled.

Draft. An unclear chestnut colored beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, malt, caramel, and lemon. The flavor is very sweet - a bit too sweet for my liking with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a sligtly tart finish.

On tap. Pours a hazy dark brown with a tint of orange and a creamy beige head leaving some lacework. Sweet aroma of dried fruit, prunes and dates. Quite full-bodied, heavy on the dried fruit flavours with lots of burned caramel and brown sugar. No bitterness - absolutely no bitterness. A bit of a sugar bomb - and a bit too much, even for me. 110709
