Admin Note: Draft only Scotch BA Bigfoot
The elusive Bigfoot was aged over a year in Scotch Whisky barrels giving this beer a slightly smoky character that adds depth to the rich caramel and toffee notes of Bigfoot Barleywine-style Ale.

Keg at the Torpedo Room, Oakland, 29/01/16. Lightly gazed amber topped with a decent beige covering. Nose is candied fruit peel, big scotch waft, dates, figs, fruit cake mix. Taste comprises more candied fruit, light spice, raises, toasted brown sugar, toffee, lighter Scotch barrel than the nose suggests. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, rising boost in the close. Decent BA affair .. All kept well in check ... I’m with Petey on this Juan !

On tap at the Torpedo Room. It pours a hazy burnt orange color with an off white head. The aroma is pretty hot and alcoholic with lots of fruit and some oxidized sherry notes. The flavor is very hot and boozy with big dark fruit and strong piney, earthy bitterness. Kind of green and grassy with some solvent notes. The nice fruit character saves this from being a total drain pour, but still pretty hard to choke this one down.

Keg at Torpedo Room. Pours lightly hazy copper with a frothy off-white head. Rough aroma, some varnish, wood, old orange rind. Medium sweet flavor with more varnish, raw alcohol, toasted grass, wood. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Harsh on their finish, more wood, faint caramel, earth, varnish, bread crust. Quite rough overall.

On tap @ Tap and Handle Foco during another massive Sierra Nevada tap takeover. Pours a pretty bright reddish orange appearance with a cream colored head. A lot of tannins and wood in the nose. Caramel, toffee, and dark fruit as well. Some oxidation. A little thick and sweet. Pine, caramel, tangerine, and leather in the flavor. Nowhere close to as good as BA Bigfoot.
