A mild brown ale named after Duke, the owner’s late, beloved boxer. This local favorite has hints of chocolate and caramel with a smooth nutty finish. A well-balanced, flavorful brown ale that’s perfect any time of year.

Crisp, slightly hazy rich brown coloured body with a darker brown top and a rich, thick, five centimetre tall brown head. Aroma of alcohol, toasted malt, nuts, earth and hints of light sugars. Light-bodied; Very very mild flavour of toasted malt, alcohol, sour grapes and nothing else - water. Aftertaste shows the palest of malts with a touch of grass and grain and the ever-present lemon taste. Overall, a pretty lacklustre beer with only some toffee flavours noticeable in a good way. Otherwise, this beer is worth passing up, even in the novelty of the can. I sampled this 12 ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Tampa, Florida on 03-January-2014 for US$1.79, sampled at home in Washington on 25-February-2014.

Pours from a can a clear light brown color with a minimal light beige head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of roast malt and nuts. Light to medium body with a roasty character of malt and nuts, plus slight hops in the background. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Average all around.

On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2013. Pours clear brown with a fine, tan foam head. Toasty malts in the nose, some nuts. Light sweetness in the flavor with notes of bread, crunchy and lightly toasted cereal grains. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Basic and easygoing.
