The color is dark, close to black, with small head. Convincing aroma, dark malts, a bit sour, chocolate, vanilla. Lean body; dark chocolate flavor, and strong sourness that reminds me of strawberries; rather dry; harmonious and powerful.
Excellent.

Bottle - Dark fruits, boozy bourbon notes and malty. Deep jet brown with a light brown head. Light soured and sweet bourbon notes and a nice relatively clean finish. Nice.

Bottle. Light hazy deep ruby liquid with small, fast dissipating light tan head. Aroma of lemon, light vinegar, wood, light bread, apple skin, light funk and light raw sugar. Taste is dry and medium to high sour with notes of lemons, apple skin, wood and light raw sugar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Really nice, quite malty. Low levels of acetic acid, which I like.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head. The aroma is oak, dark fruit, figs. Thin mouth, dark fruit, oak tannin, lingering sourness, very good.

Bottle. Pours amber tan head. Nose/taste of sour raspberry, oak, tobacco, sour plum, sour caramel and rum. Medium body.

Poured from a bottle about a week after the release. Aroma is fairly boozy with rum, bourbon and quite a bit of brandy. Dried fruit notes with plum and fig. Light sourness with hints of phenolic spice and oak. Pours a hazy brown with dark, burnt amber notes and a large, fairly thin, dark tan head that quickly disappears. Flavor has a medium light tart character - mostly cherries and berries. More acidity as it warms. Moderate nuttiness with some raisin, prune and fig. Less alcohol character than in the aroma with some brandy and bourbon. Light oak and some alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth. Overall, an interesting beer with a nice malt character. Acidity works surprisingly well with the alcohol and malt notes.
