S:t Eriks and Thornbridge are both known for their own unique take on the American-style IPA. Jessica and Rob decided to brew a modern interpretation of an old English-style IPA, fermented with a true Northern English yeast strain and British hops for a unique and complex fruitiness, celebrating all that is good about IPA

(Bottle) Golden amber colour, slightly hazy, with frothy off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of apricots, orange peel, bread, hints of resin and floral hops. Malty, fruity taste with apricots, orange peel, mandarin, sweetish syrupy malt, caramel, honey and a balanced resiny, floral bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made IPA with lots of EKG character. Good balance. Nice one.

Fresh keg (only six days old) at En Öl- och Whiskymässa, Gothenburg, april 2014.. Pours deep clear golden with a fairly lasting slowly dissipating white head. Aroma is soft malty, caramel, bread, biscuit, floral hops. Taste is is a nice flowery bitterness on a big malt ground with biscuit and crackers. Ends flowery bitter without going in the typical rough way. Medium body, medium carbo, soft, sticky texture. A nice display.

Appearance: Golden color with a fine white head. Good lacing.
Aroma: Citrus hoppy and fruity.
Palate: Medium + body. A bit sweet and a fine bitterness. Average carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Citric hoppy, rich pineapple and a fine malty back.
Overall impression: Not very typical British IPA. And nothing wrong with that. Just a bit to sweet.

Clear golden with low head. Sweet, earthy aroma. Raisins in the taste, well balanced with the bitterness. The alcohol level can be noticed.
