Following the Blond and Brown Bink, the brewery launched a third type of beer: the Blossom Bink, on the occasion of the 50th consacration of the blossoms in 2000! We brew this seasonal beer every year in the same period (spring-summer). The ingredients are: five types of malts, one type of Belgian hops, brewing water, yeast, honey from Sint-Truiden and pear syrup from Vrolingen. It has a fruity taste with a slightly sweet tone and a long fruity and soft bittery aftertaste.

Bottle, 0.33l. Murky deep copper/brown pour, two finger creamy beige head, long lasting. Sticky lacing on the glass. Malty on the nose, toasted caramel, sugary notes, yeast. Ripe fruits in the background. Medium body, medium carbonation, lively. Average mouthfeel and texture, slightly chewy, fizzy, easily drinkable. Sweet taste with some moderately strong bitter notes in the background. Aroma of toasted caramel, molasses, candy. Yeast, bread, ripe fruits. Spices and honey notes in the background. Slightly sticky. Lingering alcohol, dry, bitter, warming. Long lasting finish, dry, slightly liquory, somewhat harsh bitterness. Enjoyable but slightly unbalanced.

0.33l bottle at Ambasada. Huge thanks Bruno B.! Murky brown body, off-white head. Ugly yeasty, malty aroma, no real honey or floral notes. Yeasty, malty, soft taste, oh man... again, zero floral notes. This bottle went really, REALLY the wrong way. I won't be as harsh as it may have deserved with the dead yeasty profile, but I was glad to get it for free...

Pours orange, something between hazy and murky. Medium sized compact, pilowy white head; shows good enough retention and some lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: a soft dough-like base, followed by vivid notes of pear, plus lighter honey and chamomille. Feels relatively simple but well defined. Taste shows more complexity. Delicate/soft malty base with dough and biscuity malts, quite vivid pear fruitiness, honey, chamomille, a bit of spiciness on the back of things gives it a pleasant spark. Leans certainly towards sweetness in both taste and aftertaste, but still feels nicely balanced; it's pretty clean/defined with a dry enough finish and doesn't have even one bit of that sticky, fake-feeling sirupy sweetness that many similar beers have. A bit of fruitiness in the aftertaste. Medium bodied with medium to high, quite dense feeling carbonation; feels pleasantly soft and slightly creamy. The joys of paasbier. Lovely.

Bottle @ home. Rather clear, golden body under a fine white head. Aroma has malt, bread and a bit floral. Taste has sweet malt, a floral touch and hint of caramel. Not very impressive at the first sips, but it seems to open up with some more delicate flavors from yeast and esters. Not able to detect any honey flavor here, but this also may have some impact. Balanced body, balanced in taste, well hidden alcohol and all over rather nice when finishing the bottle.

Eingetrübte dunkelbraune Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, leicht hefiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, hefig, fruchtig mit Karamell. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.
