Bottle from the LCBO. Clear dark copper with a tiny short lived white head. Nose is mostly toffee with some light fruit and grass. Medium- toffee sweetness with only a hint of bitterness in the finish. Mouth is creamy and slightly thin with soft carbonation. Less interesting than the regular Trooper. 6-/3/5/3/11

Clear brown colour. Initial aroma of sweet apples and toffee. Malts and caramel up front with a lasting sweetness in the finish. Not as good as the standard version.

330 ml bottle. Clear, deep golden body with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma has caramel malt, toffee, toast and brown sugar. Flavor is quite sweet malty, caramel, toffee, bread, brown sugar and hint of fruit. Moderate bitterness. Medium to full bodied and average aftertaste in the same direction as the rest. A rather classic, traditional old fashioned British ale, and that’s no favorite by me.

In this edition of "what the hell am I drinking." Bottle pour. Clear copper pour with an active fizz head. Soft aroma of caramel that’s actually quite nice. Flavor is a battle of malt and booziness, with malt winning. Hints of metallic. Worked great to hydrate. Easy drinking overall. Not bad.

Bottle. A clear, dark golden colored beer topped by a small, white head. Rather malty aroma with a grassy, light cheesy and fruity aroma. The flavor is a bit sweetish, with toffee and some vienna malts. Decent bitterness and a good dash of fruityness. Pine cones and grass. Full to medium body and a soft carbonation. Long caramel finish with a decent fruityness. Overall, a rather boring one, but sure decent and without any flaws. 160325

Shared 16.9 oz. bottle. Amber color with a white head. Aroma and taste of malt, caramel, some dark fruits, and alcohol. A malty sweetness is the dominate element, and not necessarily in a good way. Not that great.
