33cl bottle (BBF: 09/20 yet for 6.8% beer it should be ok) from Prik & Tik Dranken Marlou. F: medium, egg-white, not long lasting. C: brown, hazy with yeasty debris. A: malty, peach, red apple peels, caramel, bready, honey, mellow fruity. T: medium to full malty base, bready, caramel, red apples peels, honey, medium dry on the palate, toast, medium carbonation, not great for “Jubileumbier - 20 jaar” but still enjoyable beer for me.

Bottle at the source. Pours amber with whiteish head. Aroma is sweet, hoppy, citrus, tangerines. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel, burnt sugar, citrus, bitter orange. Finish is dry and bitter citrus. Carbonation is rather high. Overall: ok, slightly messy, but i love mandarina hops.

Jubilee beer for twenty years Pakhuis, thanks Hans for sharing the bottle. Moussy, coarse, off-white, lightly lacing but not very stable head, hazy peach blonde robe with warmer orangey hue, becoming completely cloudy halfway the bottle and eventually unattractively murky. Aroma of peach, dried orange peel, jute, dried wormwood, sourdough, red apple, cooked carrots, coriander, apricot, dust, bitter honey, old toast. Fruity onset, peach, pineapple and some light banana with a sourish edge, sharply overcarbonated, minerally and numbing the tongue at least initially; light mouthfeel. Cereally maltiness in the middle while the fruity esters continue, some spicy phenols too, bit bready edge especially as more yeast enters the glass; dryish finish, lightly toasted accent, ongoing fruitiness, some soapy coriander, earthy hop bitter touch. Acceptable, thoroughly Belgian with a kind of Wallonian ’ambrée’-like twist, but frankly I expect more from a beer intended to celebrate the twenty years of existence of a brewery, even if it is a brewery which deliberately seeks to appeal to a broader, traditionally Belgian audience.

Bottle @ home. Opaque murky filthy looking orange color, huge foamy white head. Smell and taste malts, somewhat floral, herbs or spices, lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Meh, not very good.

Hazy blond with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some spicy yeast and hints of ginger cake. Quite gassy.

Taste: pretty fruity start, some citrus, banana, bit malty, bitter hops. Aftertaste: citrus, grassy, quite bitter, dry finish, lots of ripe banana.

Troebel oranjegeel bier met stevig schuim. Smaak is krachtig bitter, licht zoet en kruidig, kardemon of iets dergelijks. Best goed jubileumbier.
