33cl Bottle from Jopen Proeflokaal Waarderpolder. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of candy, liquorice, oak, vanilla, roasted malts, sweet resin. Flavour is sweet, candy, roasted malt, caramel, oak, berries, some vanilla, bittersweet finish, hint of berries. Medium bodied. Although the different versions are not far apart, this is the least so far imo.

bottle from local Mitra, pours dark brown to black with a fine brown colored head. aroma of vanille, laurel, roasted malts, licuorice, chocolate, wood. Taste is smooth-slick however i thinks it´s a bit thin for a IRS. oily, roasted malts, laurel, vanilla, oak wood, soft smoot co2 mouthfeel, grain, average body, low co2, medium bitterness, , low co2, a bit of chocolate, some sharp alcoholic peppery notes, lacks body-complexity and imo the previous versions were a lot better.

Bottle @ home. Opaque black color, full sized brown head that’s quite dense and lasts for a long time and leaves good lacing. Aroma is malts, soft roast. Taste malts, moderately roasty, malt bitter. Don’t get much more, perhaps a slight hint of liquorice. Nice full oily mouthfeel though with soft carbonation. Nice, but could use a bit more complexity.

From bottle at Winterbierfestival Enschede 2016. Opaque black with a thin, creamy, slowly diminishing, brown head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, raisins, prunes and caramel. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity taste of dark chocolate, caramel, raisins and prunes, followed by a medium long, roasty-bitter, slightly peated finish. Medium to full body, creamy to oily mouthfeel, flat. Very nice!
