19 May 2019. At SWAFFF!, Brussels. Cheers Anke, Erwin & Ama Deke! Clear amber, lasting, unstable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of red grapes, wood, almond, cherry, some candy even ('poepegatjes'!), red fruit jam, cake. Taste is medium fruity sweet, lots of ripe red grapes, raspberry, red jam, subtle sour notes, a bit woody, herbal & almond-like bitter on brioche-like maltiness. Dry, bitter, earthy hoppy finish, astringent & literally abrupt, lingering wood, grapes, tannins, and warming red wine-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. A bit wayward in its execution but not bad.

Sample draught @ SWAFFF! 2019 Brussels Craft Beer Festival (1st day) shared with BE RB crew and other gentle people there. F: medium, bit tan, average retention. C: dark red with coppery hue, hazy. A: sour fruity, chocolate, cocoa, caramel, bit vinegar, almost like Oud Bruin beer style. T: woody, caramel, sour fruity, chocolate, cocoa, bit vinegar, grapes, medium sweet, medium to full body, lower carbonation, very good, enjoyed.

I Draught /I Thick, russet-cream head over fully hazy reddish mahogany beer, low carbonation. Vinous, winemost, mossy, even meaty esters in the nose!, winebrand. Vinous, again winemost, old wet wood, again meaty. Quite well-bodied, alcoholwarmth, very slick to oily. Good, sorry, very good but not quite as some as its Italian-brewed counterparts.

Clear deep ruby to amber red beer, big creamy beige head, stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice earthy notes, acidic impression, vinegar, fruity, red berries. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit sweet, some tannins, lots of grapes, bit oxidized, soft bitterness, alcohol. Aftertaste: sugary touch, sweetish, tannins, fruity notes, grapes. Very nice one!
