Delicate and devilishly drinkable, this quintessentially Kentish ale lays the county's hallowed, herbaceous hops on a firm, biscuity bed of pale and crystal malt. Endowed with an inviting auburn-amber hue and a tantalising toffee-ish aroma, it's an enlivening English ale that, given its unassuming ABV, pleasures the palate with a remarkable fullness of flavour.

Cask at The Spanish Galleon, Greenwich. Light hoppy aroma. Amber color with creamy white head. Starts a bit of citrus hop. Light malt. Seems well balanced. Lightly bitter finish. About medium mouthfeel. Agree Spitfire is superior.

Cask, Handpump. Amber body and no head to speak of. Nose is hops with more tea notes and light citrus. Taste is hoppy but faint sweeter tones and some tea creep through. Moderate feel to it and light slickness. Finish is light bittered hops.

Amber coloured, no head to speak of; hoppy and malty aroma; mild bitter flavour; herbal, medical hoppy aftertaste; quite dry, light bodied, but not watery; quite o.k., but too light in my opinion.......

Cask @ Ferry Inn, Grove Ferry, Kent. Mid brown coloured beer with some green hops on nose, a little bit of malt. A bit thin in the mouth with some lasting hop bitterness on end. Nothing wrong with it, but just not that interesting. Re-rate from cask at Connin gbrook, Ashford. The last couple of pints of this I have had have changed 16 years of prejudice. Really good session bitter with yeast, caramel/apple malt and enough hop to keep you interested. Very drinkable.
