Bottle sample at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks Stas. Brown. Malt, caramel, toast, nuts, some yeast, sweet, roast, coffee, medium-bodied, bitterish finish.

Sankt Gallen Gansha Black 5.5% 1.8L sake bomber straight from the brewery shared at KBC's launch party. Black with a light tan head. It's got a big sweet roasty vanilla & soft chocolate aroma. Soft light body with a roasty sweet chocolate flavor and a bitter malty finish. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from takasjimaya Kyoto. Roasty malt aorma, coffee, wood. Flavor isna bot sweeter, some cnoclate, with cafe au lait, a touch of fruit. Ok, but simple. Less interesting than their porter, though easy drinking and decent enough.

Lots of chocolate malts in the nose, but not so roasty. The mouth shows a lot more roastiness, but not as much body as I would like. Very dry roasted finish. OK.
