Keyaki. Nice and smooth and sweet. Light bitterness, nice sweetness. Cocoa. Rerate at the Tazawako place in Sendai. Nice subdued chocolate taste, easy going, touch of spice and bitterness, touch of cola. Surprisingly easy going for the strength. Good stuff. Score up a touch.

Draft - Toasted malts, light molasses and mild chocolate. Jet brown with a thin head. Rich dark malts toasted grains and the chocolate is lost in the flavour. Very average bock.

For some reason this is now being sold as W (double) Chocolate Bock. Bottle at the GJBF Osaka. A pleasant chocolatey aroma with a rich malty base underlying it and a golden brown color. The mouthfeel is nice but the flavor is slightly grainy which I don’t care for, grainy start then chocolate finish. Tasty but somewhat disappointing.

Bottle from Kyoto station. Pours out a crisp brown topped with a small cream tan head. Aroma is of light sweetness, dark fruits, and some rich malts. Taste of pit fruit, light bitter sweet chocolate.

Draught at Q-Brick as W-Chocolate Bock. Think it is the same one. Rich munich malt aroma with chocolate and caramel. Fragrant and nice. Black with a thin, fine, head. Slightly smoky flavor of chocolate and caramel with some wood. Very rich malt, yet not cloying in the least. Very nice bock indeed.
