140 ml glass on cask at Baird’s Bashamichi Taproom. Dark amber with light tan head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, roast. Tastes of toffee, roast, light smoky notes. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Pretty nice.

5.7% cask on tap, 1000 yen tasting set at Basamichi taproom(200 yen more than Numazu). A clear dark ruby brown. Smooth, woodsy, maple, caramel, tasty stuff. nutty, a touch sweet but creamy & great. Chocolatey nose, smooth, easy drinking velvety goodness. A great cask ale.

Handpump at the Taproom. Something like a smoked brown ale. Caramel aroma with rather lightish smoke. Smokier flavor with caramel, chocolate. Smoke still medium level, less than in Bamberg. A very tasty smoked ale, almost flat, with a very smooth, rich body. Great with BBQ.
