A Delicious Belgian-style IPA, brewed with chestnuts, tapioca, sorghum, agave nectar and loads of the freshest hops money can buy. Fermented with two yeasts for a layered complexity, and dry hopped for a spicy mouthful of fun.
Admin Note: Golden Manatee is a gluten-free brewing subsidiary of Jolly Pumpkin. There are not enough beers to justify adding Golden Manatee as a separate brand/brewery.

Non Beer Trip Beer Trip Beer #93. Keg at Jolly Pumpkin Ann Arbor, 3/12/16. Hazy golden, large fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of citrus, tropical hops, pale crackery malt, agave. The taste is citrus, tropical hops, agave, pale malt, bubblegum. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering bitterness. This beer’s 50th rating! And this has to be my highest rating of any beer’s that’s been within 12 light years of sorghum.

Draught @ Jolly Pumpkin Cafe & Brewery, Ann Arbor, MI
Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, elderflower, yeast and floral. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with a long malty, nutty and floral finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at Jolly Pumpkin, Ann Arbor. It’s a clear, dark golden beer with a small off-white head. There’s lots of peaches, mango and generic fruityness in the aroma, some grass and resin hints. It’s super soft on the palate, with a low carbonation level, medium to full body. Tropical fruits and some bitterness in the mouth, not much maltyness going on. Fruity finish. A bit weak all the way, but nice indeed. 150614

Tap @ Jolly Pumpkin Ann Arbor. Slightly hazy, golden appearance with a white head. Somewhat spicy, piney hoppy aroma. Sweet pale malty, very spicy, sappy hoppy flavor.

tap at Jolly Pumpkin Ann Arbor - Hopefully I’ve got the right beer and it’s not the gluten free sour of the same name. I think both brews are gluten free (this one was labeled as such). Pours clear golden with no head. It has an earthy hop aroma. The flavor is earthy with herbal hops. This medium bodied brew has a bitter, herbal rich finish. It’s very good especially for a gluten-free. I’d not had a good one of those before.

Nice, lemony citrus aroma, but with a medicinal underpinning. The flavor is almost repugnant. Medicinal, rubbing alcohol. Really doesn’t work, though I guess it might be ok for a gluten free.

On tap at Jolly Pumpkin Ann Arbor. Pours golden with a white head. Citrus and floral hop aromas. Flavor is very floral hops with citrus as well as some yeasty flavors, dry, with a soapy quality. Also some woody oak and grainy flavors. This one just didn’t work well for me. I can taste the makings of a great IPA, but the other flavors get in the way.

On tap. Poured a clear bronze with an egg shell head. Aroma was full of citrus hops with a bit of underlying spices. Earthy hops were the main flavor I picked up with a bit of spice and yeast underneath.
