Bottle, from ages ago. Just found some old notes. Labelled as Kamakura Moon. Aroma is slightly cheesy in a nice way. Light roast. Taste is a bit weird, quite thin, malty, earthy, nutty but oily, not quite right for me. Not sure what's going on here.

Bottle, walking around in Kamakura. Drinking from the bottle, so cannot really see the colour, just assuming its brown and everything else is fine with that. Aroma is toasted and nutty, quite malt forward with very little fruitiness. Taste is actually better than I thought, quenches my thirst in this hot Japanese summer. Some toffee, toast and brown milk chocolate. Hint of some roast. Overall, relatively nice one, although just a simple altbier. Maybe would have thought differently if I had it from a glass but right now its is satisfying.

Bottle shared with Kanagawa friends in 2013. Caramel nose with some light grassy hops. Medium to slightly heavy body with lots of caramel sweetness. Somewhat syrupy but not cloying. Light bitterness on the finish.

Bought in Kamakura.6% drunk at the Daibutsu. An orange ish amber pour, quickly dissipating head. Malty fruit & caramel nose. The taste is a candy like malt sweetness but clean with no off flavors. Full bodied, satisfying beer. Malty sweet but with a crisp clean lightly bitter citrus finish. A very solid ale.

Bottle brought back from a friend’s trip to Japan: Dull copper pour with a thin ring of beige head. Nose is sweet and relatively fruity, along with a little bit of esters and bread. The flavor is a nice balance of sweetness from the malts and florals. Crisp, but finishes a little metallic.

7/3/7/3/13 Bottle. Deep, dark amber color with a tall, fine head. Sweet, rich caramel malt aroma, with root beer, a bit of dried fruit and a touch of spice. Rich malt flavor, caramel, sweet but not overly so. Full and rounded with a decent bitterness. A good, balanced alt.

Pours a deep copper with a light tan head. Aroma is caramely sweet malt, yeast, and subtle earth tones. Not a bad aroma, but similar to their other brews. has a nice body on it with just enough carbonation to let you know it’s there. Tastes of toasted malt, sweet, and a bit of hop bitterness in the background. Finishes with a light bitterness and some sweetness from the malts. Nothing exciting, but easily drinkable.
