Draft @ Messrs, Dublin.

Draught at the pub. Black with a thin off white head. Aroma is sweet with chocolate notes. Flavour is slightly sweet with roast and chocolate, plently of malt in the background. Not as creamy as some Irish stouts

Draught at the Brewery in Dublin. Dry, well roasted stout with lots of coffee and a touch of cocoa. Very dry and flavorful. A very typical, but well-made dry stout.

Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 19/03/09. Opaque black in colour, with a big, frothy, dark tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and milk chocolate. Light mouth feel, with plenty of coffee flavour, some caramel, and the lactic edge mentioned by others in the finish. Enjoyable.

On tap at Messrs Maguire in Dublin. Pours an opaque, heavy looking black with a thick, creamy white head. No real carbonation. Aroma is suspiciously absent... slight roasted aroma if you search. Flavor is strong with a healthy dose of chocolate plus plenty of toast and grain. Creamy in the mouth. Great session beer and by far the best they had on tap while I was in.

Draft at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A pitch black beer with a dense brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and lighter notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish. The body is a bit thin.

Medium brown-beige shiny creamy everlasting head. Opaque black body, barely dark red-brown at edges. Roasty burnt vanilla and caramel aroma with coffee notes. Dry burnt roasty milky coffee taste with spicy caramelly notes. Long, lingering aftertaste with an emphasis on the burntness, with notes of licorice. Some pepper and spice, too. Mild mouthfeel. Nice, but not too special. (0.3l draft at the brewpub.)
