Semi- transparent red-brown with a creamy, light brown head. Aroma is toast, caramel. Taste is malty, chocolate, caramel. very sweet. Tasty, but a little watery. Wayyyyy better than regular Heinie.

Bottle @ home. Pours a clear, reddish brown appearance with an initially large, brown head that dissipates pretty quickly. Dark toffee/caramel malty, bland lager aroma. Fairly light bodied for the style. Light caramel malty, light chocolate, earthy flavor. Not favorable but not very good either.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark orange-brown color with a medium sized tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was faintly tangy with moderate bread, toffee a touch of nut. The flavor was tangy and sour with a faint nutty malt presence, a hint of toffee and not a whole lot more going on. Medium length tangy finish. Medium body. Eh.

Tried this in a pizza place because I could. Pours with a very quickly dissipating, cream-colored head over a ruby, clear, carbonated, body. Aroma gives you a little bit of caramel malts. Taste and palate are rather uninteresting. Caramel malts are there, a little sweetness, almost no hoppage, Still, I would take this over the normal Heineken any day.

12 oz bottle purchased as part of a mix a six at Lukas in Kansas City, Missouri. Pour is a clear ruby amber golden with a three inch light tan head that falls noisily with limited lacing. Aroma of not too much, what is there is a mild nutty roast and some earthy dirtiness. A touch metallic as well. Taste is mild caramel nutty sweetness, some grass and hay and a pretty decent blast of diacetyl in the end - which makes it chemically sweet and dirty in the finish. Palate is thin to medium, lighter carbonation than I would have wanted and the aforementioned chemical dirtiness of the long aftertaste.

Pours garnet-tinged brown into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to hug rim. No aroma. Sharp and malty with dark dry pit fruit from front to back.

Bottle. First time to try this world famous dark since high school, I suppose. Dark brown color with reddish tints, tall, fine, light tan head. Sweet, malty aroma, some dark fruits, honey, only light roasting. Rather sweet, medium light beer, caramel. Fruity, a touch of roasted flavor, but just a touch. Not too sweet, decent balance, though not very complex and could be a bit dryer. A touch of sour to balance. Not really interesting, but better than I expected.
