Norm's Wine and Beer: pours gold with white head. Very grainy and sulfuric. Bready and malty. Not very sweet. Lingering aftertaste. Fine. I guess.

Medium gold. Has a saaz aroma, but it tastes like diacetyl, and vague, sweet pale malts.

A bottle I picked up at my local Lawson to help encourage them to keep bringing in craft beer. the selection has really grown lately. Anyways, on to the beer. It pours a crystal clear gold with a thin head which vanished in the blink of an eye. The aroma was kind of disappointing, grassy with some funk at first which then dissipated. The flavor was a pleasant surprise, a nice sweet malt at first followed by grass/hay notes and ending on a nice crisp bitter hop finish. I am not a big lager guy but this is pretty decent.

Bottle. About ¥330. Deep golden color with amber shades, tall, airy head. Rich cereals malt aroma with some spicy, citrus hops. Slightly creamy. Rich amber malt, fruity with restrained sweetness. Light citrus hopping. Very well balanced, malty, bready, helles. A very pleasant surprise here. Crisp, rich, and flavorful.
