From tap at Bishop Arms, København. Pours dark brown to black with a creamy, tan and dense head. Aroma is dense chocolate, hoppy and light fruity. Solid bitter, dark creamy chocolate and roasted malt. Rathe fruity and bitter, floral too. Lasting fruity and bitter dry finish.

Draught at the Bridgeport Brewery. Lovely fine, long-lasting head. Smooth, creamy mouth. Woody flavor with coffee. Rather dull and bland. Slightly sweet, and a bit tart as well. Flavor can’t keep up with appearance.

Weak soy sauce and prune aroma. Black with a medium tan head. Dry and slightly tart. Flavors of charcoal and cream sherry. Sweet-tart plum finish. There’s no mistaking the style and it’s very drinkable, but there isn’t much else happening. A modest upgrade from Guinness, but that might be debatable too. It does have its own character, though.

Had last night in bottle at Bulldog. Rating from memory and what I distinctly remember is lots of liquorice, salty, molasses and dark chocolate. It was very much like an English stout, but hopped up. It was kinda weird. At first I liked it, but then I decided I didn’t care for it that much after all. Something different, but won’t try again.

Sampled at the Hopsnobbery Collective Stout tasting on 01/16/09. The beer is a nearly opaque brownish black color with a minimal light beige head that disappears quickly. Thin rings of lacing. Aroma of espresso and lightly smoky malt. Light and dry mouthfeel with flavors of coffee, caramel and touches of hops. The finish is mostly malty with a light hoppy character on the back end. Decent overall, but really does not compete with the better beers of the style.

Deep brown with medium tan head. Roasted malts, molasses, milky, oats, and dark fruits. Body is a bit thin, and a fair amount of carbonation. Flavor is much like the aroma. Finish is full of the dark fruits and light bittersweet. Alright stout, but not much going on.

12 oz. bottle. Pour is black with a smallish tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and and some hop bitterness. Taste is right on with nose, nice medium bodied roastiness with a bright hop bitterness in the finish. Decent stout.

Aroma of dark toasted malt backed by chocolate. Dark brown color with virtually no head. Medium body. Starts with dark molasses sweetness, followed by some bits of chocolate. There is also a decent amount of bitter - unless it is that burnt malt thing. Finishes dry. Mouth smackingly good. The long result is bitter with toasted malt.
