Clear amber wtih short, off-white head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel and toast and some ripe apple. The flavor, too, is malty sweet, moderately so hinting at apples. Bitter finish, again moderately so. Medium body with smooth texture and lively carbonation. Bitter aftertaste. The flavors are more forward than other ESBs and the apple tartness and bitter hops clash in the finish.

On tap at Bridgeport, Portland. Amber colour with lasting off white head. Perfumed aroma. Slightly spicey. Bit empty on the malt. Some toffee, bit like an ESB, but not really. OK

A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with a good hop presence and a light fruit presence. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of toffee, but also light notes of barn yard and fruit.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours amber golden with a slight haze and a small, creamy, off-white head leaving a neat lacework. Fruity, orangey nose. Medium body with rather delicate, fruity notes. Dry. lightly hoppy finish. 200606

Pours a cloudy amber with a small, off-white head. Aroma is hoppy and citrus filled. Taste is crips with hops, malt, and some floral tones. Body is heavier than most ESB’s - a very tasty brew.

Pour is a bright orange wiith a small white head. Aroma is a nice floral hop. Flavor is more of the same, nice hop taste with a malty backbone. Very sliky and heavy body makes this a above par ESB. Very drinkable and tasty.

Bottle Pours a medium slightly redish copper color with a very slight short lived head. Wisps of spotty lacing. Plain malty aroma with not much of a hops note. A bit like cider. Flavor is malty, slightly sweet, very little hops and moderate to slightly thin feel. Very littel bitterness at the end. A pleasant sweet woody flavor as a trailer.

This is a very drinkable ESB that could double duty as a session beer. The nose on this is malty with an accompaniment of hops. It pours a large rocky head that lasts over a brilliantly clear, dark copper beer. Sweet palate with the slightly acid bite from carbonic acid in a lively beer. Almost non-existent finish. A little thin but a good beer just the same.

Dark amber in colour with a very thing off-white head. Smells of malt and sweetness, such as honey and fresh pineapple. Taste of malt and cardboard in the taste. Medium to light bodied with a slightly sour aftertaste. A decent bitter, but not too great. I was really expecting more from Bridgeport. Brew Date: 15-May-2003. I bought this 12 ounce bottle from Total Beverage in Thornton (Denver), Colorado.
