The rich mahogany hue of the Nut Brown is the first thing you will notice about this complex, malty brew. A delicate blend of chocolate malt, caramel malt, and four other malts brings to this beer a chocolatey sweetness, and hints of coffee. The malt character is subtly balanced with Northdown and Fuggles hops.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a rugged burnt dark amber close to brown color. Sly little white head. Messy lace.
The aroma takes on nutty to light chocolate maltiness. Big caramel / toffee tones and a clean earthy to grassy quality.
The flavor leans nutty sweet with the chocolate, caramel and toffee notes combining sweetly. Sly crisp earthy, and malty aftertaste slyly moving into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation feels good.
Overall, nice English styled brown ale that I would have again.

Comes together alright, just not a lot of flavour. Some roast malt, lace and head is ok. Some nut as well, I’m going to say macadamia just to sound pretentious. Pours maroon. Some caramel in malt. On tap at brewpub.

Location: 12 oz bottle, 5/17/12

Aroma: This one has a sweet nose of caramel, nuts, dark malts, roast, and coffee
Appearance: It has a mahogany-brown pour with a small-mid sized light brown head and spotty lace
Flavor: It tastes of sweet malts and roasted malts, lightly bitter coffee and earthy flavors show up later
Palate: The body is fairly light for the style, but not particularly watery, and it has a slightly acidic finish
Overall Impression: I have no idea where this one came from, but thank you to whomever left it in my fridge! This one is a pretty solid offering. It has some nice nut brown-like components to it, and overall it drank pretty decently. It may not be a top-of-style offering, but I have no major complaints either.

Tap @ brewery. A bit hazy, dark reddish brown appearance with a fluffy, tan head. Very toasty, caramel, dark chocolate malty, thick nutty aroma. Light syrupy caramel, roasty chocolate malty, moderate espresso flavor.
