The rich mahogany hue of the Nut Brown is the first thing you will notice about this complex, malty brew. A delicate blend of chocolate malt, caramel malt, and four other malts brings to this beer a chocolatey sweetness, and hints of coffee. The malt character is subtly balanced with Northdown and Fuggles hops.

Dark brown color, very small foamy light brown head, caramel-coffee aroma, dominant coffee flavor, medium carbonation, long finish. Interesting beer except for the strong coffee taste. Tried it at tke Amsterdam Ale House in New York, upper west side.

Pours deep brown into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to hug rim. Roasted nut and toast aromas. Dry with upfront chocolate turning nutty in the dry medium length sweet mocha finish.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of j12601. VOTE J12601 Newbie of the Year! Pours a copper tinted dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of nuts, chocolate, hay, light strawberry and other fruits. Taste is chocolate, nuts, bitter leafy hops with a bit of a pineapple-citrus bite. Light coffee as well. Medium bodied.

This nut brown ale poured a deep, almost black colour with a nice big, creamy brown head. To the nose there are scents of roasted malts, nuts, caramel and coffee. First sip was very roasted with coffee flavours very prodominant. Others of roasty malts and a little hop make this a very nice Nut Brown. Slightly watery and creamy at the same time. Roasted flavours stay on the palate for quite some time.

Draught at the New York Wine and Culinary Center. Rich and fragrant aroma of sweet chocolate and caramel; slightly roasted. Full-flavored, sweet, dessert-like. Lots of chocolate, rich and thick, with nice balance. Luscious.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with ruby highlights and a small brown head. The aroma was moderately roasty and lightly smoky. The flavor was dry, bitter and very roasty with a hint of smoke underneath and a long, harsh and dry roasty finish.
