The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Canned 473ml. -from Beergium. Black coloured, medium sized brown head, chocolate nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla and soy sauce with notes of nuts and alcohol. Pleasant roasty finish. Not so complex but quite nice brew indeed.

Geil.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A almost black beer with a mid-sized most good lasting tan head. Aroma of coffee, sweet chocolate, cocoa, vanilla. Taste of sweet chocolate, maple, almond, coffee, vanilla, a bit sticky, great stuff!

Many thanks to Nisse666 for this bottle. Malty smooth nose. The beer starts fresh and malty. Sourish hints with an extreme dry body. Caramel and vanilla there, hints of biscuits, smooth malty coffee and milk chocolate. Long smooth intense aftertaste of dry roasted chocolate and moderate bittered hops. Nice.

Way too easy drinking. Plenty of almond and coffee, but not as sweet and thick as I expected.

From can. Pitch black body with a light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, cocoa, coffee and cream. Taste of chocolate, plums, raisins, coffee, vanilla, bourbon and floral hops. Surprisingly mellow for a beer that is this strong. Great one for sure.

Massive chocolate-vanilla nose with hints of dark roasted coffee and licorice. Pours a gorgeous infinite black with a deep chocolate head and moderate lacing. Taste starts with a burst of dark chocolate and roasted malt, leading into a vanilla-laced middle underlined by dried apricots and black cherries, followed by a dry, roasty back end full of bitter chocolate, anise, and a deep vanilla sweetness. Mocha fade is accented by bitter, pine-tinged hops. Booze shows up like you’d expect in a 11.5% stout, but the warmth is bearable and the texture otherwise is thick and gooey. Delicious.
