On tap at Fakin, Zagreb. Pours black with small beige head. Roasted malts, chocolate, dried fruit, somewhat oily, quite sweet, some bitterness, low carbonation. Medium to full bodied.

On tap at Fakin Craft bar, Zagreb. Black, oily, minimal head. Liquorice, ash, burnt wood, alcohol, leather, dark chocolate, cocoa, light dark fruit. Very sweet, coffee and cocoa, brown sugar, chocolate milk, liquorice, honey and nuts. Smooth, dry finish, lasting finish. Medium body. Nice complexity, in balance.

Inky black, no head as poured. Spicy stout aroma - leather, tobacco, olives, little sugars behind that. Maybe an impression of something smoky or roasty. The taste feels better the malts are back, and the spicy components do a good job balancing them, along with the medium heat alcohol.

On tap at Fakin Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, small brown head, alcohol chocolate and weak coffee nose. Roasted malt, dried fruits, light chocolate and alcohol with touch of wood and some berries with rather sweet finish. Bit messy brew.

Tap at Fakin. Pitch black with no head. Vinuous malty aroma, sweetish, fruity-malty somewhat oily, some caramel. Meh. Sweetish taste, mostly raisins, without much complexity, ending dry, astringent really. Absolutely unimpressed - will likely give it another shot in a day or two, but in this shape and form, this was sub-par... Hope it's just a faulty keg that somehow got oxidized...

Fat på All In Beer Fest, sent pass lördag. Svart med beige krona. Rökig och charkig med toner av kola, rostade toner, kaffe, enbärsavkok, viol och en lätt lakritston. Förvånansvärt lätt, inte minst i förhållande till sina fatlagrade varianter. Gott.

Pours cloudy black with a lasting, thin, dark beige head; little lacing. Intense aroma of beef stock, stew even, soy sauce, ham, coffee bean, vanilla, bourbon, fig, walnut & tobacco. Taste is medium malty sweet, chocolatey, creamy & faintly vanilla-like; moved aside by a medium 'meaty' umaminess, hints of soy & beef stock; sourish accent of raisin in the back before a light roasted & coffee-like bitterness pops up. Dry, toasty, peppery hoppy finish, lingering coffee & umami, warming whisky alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Great stuff, so thick in its umami character yet enough malty sweetness and roastedness to balance it out.
