Citra version: A hazed amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a nice citrusy hops, nice and smooth, biscuitty malts. In mouth, a smooth caramel malt with smooth floral hops, citrusy, light catnip, very nice and smooth. Cask Days, Oct. 30 2011.

My first beer from this company - a solid if fairly basic pale ale. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a hazy pale yellow color with an enormous soapy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was dryish and a bit spicy with notes of floral, herbal and piney hops. The flavor was dryish, tart and bitter with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, perfume and lemon. The finish was long, tangy, bitter and had lingering mixed hops. Medium body. Solid.

Decent clear dark gold body with a modest pillow of thick head on top. Soft aroma of lemony malts and plenty of hops. Flavour is a bit of bready malt followed by a modestly hoppy finish. Good dry palate. Well done and very drinkable.

12 ounce can from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a medium offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bitter citrus hops with some resin and chemical notes. The taste is pale bready malts with bitter citrus hops. Thin-medium bodied and just a touch watery. Not impressed at all.

Pours pale gold into a shaker. Fizzy white head recedes to nothing. Sweet cookie and caramel. Bread upfront turning to a bitter hop finish.

Bottled at pre-RBJG festivities in Kyoto. Hazy golden, minimal head. Perfumy apricot aroma. Mid-dry with clean, yet chewy crystal malt-like profile. Inviting, but a little sterile until orangey hops brings it to life. Finishes with medium bitterness.

Can thanks to TimE. Slightly pale gold/orange color. Flowery hop and fruit aroma, grassy, with orange and citrus. Clean citrus hop flavor, rather light on the malt. Fruity and crisp.

2012-08-08, draught at the brewpub, 6-4-7-4-14=35
Amber color. The aroma is simple, but the malt and toffee flavor is good, well balanced, with a nice bitterness level; the hop provides some resiny and fruity touch, more evident in the long final.
Pleasant Ale.
2012-08-07, cask at Alibi Room, as Red Racer Double Hopped Citra Pale Ale, 7-4-7-4-15=38
Amber color. Mild hoppy aroma, nice but not Citra-like, some sweat, lemon peel. Good malt flavor, lean, with pleasant balanced hopping, strong resins, hints of creamy Citra. A bit astringent in the end.
Very pleasant.
