3/5/2025. Can from Yutaka Shop Online. Pours clear dark amber brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, nutty, brown bread, earthy, dried fruits. Moderate sweetness, earthy bitterness, slightly rough edge. Moderate body, quite lively. Improved on early impressions.

As Beerheads Amber Ale. Can from Yutaka London. It pours clear deep red - amber with a decent off - white head. The aroma is sweet, oily, sappy, toffee, cakey malt, brown bread, resin and a bit of chocolate orange character. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, sappy, resinous, pithy, zesty, citrus peel, brown bread, malt loaf and a touch of toffee with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Decent enough amber ale.

Keyaki. Couldn't believe I hadn't rated this before. Must have had it I think. Good amber colour, decent creamy gold head. Aroma is pine hops, decent malt, bit creamy. Taste is good, enjoying amber ales at the moment. Decent spiciness, biscuit malt, full bodied. Good mix of flavours. A goodun.

On tap at Leffe Craft Beer & Diner, Nagano. Clear amber with a small, off-white head. Fairly malty and caramelly aroma with mild hoppy notes, and hints of spices. Medium sweet, rather mild flavours and a modest bitterness. Easy to drink and fairly enjoyable.

Having just had the Aso Amber I figured now was a good time to crack open this can of Oh! La! Ho! Amber Ale I got from Taniguchi. 4.5% Much nicer looking it is a deep reddish Amber with a huge bed head of foam that lingers & leaves great lacing behind. The aroma is soft cocoa, citrus and malts. Yum. Med-light bodied with a sharp rounded carbonation that pricks your tastebuds. This US style Amber is much more my style. The taste is malty cocoa, mild toffee, graham and citrusy hop fruitiness with a light dry finish. Very nice.

From a small plastic cup at Keyaki Hiroba. Pours darker amber, small layer of foam. Aroma is very very malty, slightly thick and spicy. Tastes also malty, stuffed bread, thick, tasting nice.
