Bottle from a prefectural satellite shop in Shinbashi. Pale blond colour, slight cloudiness. Not much head at all. Aroma is very herbal, lemon, floral, quite different, bit of booze. Taste is similar, quite interesting, little bit of vanilla, lemon, herbal, liquorice too. Slightly grainy. Kind of different. Interesting. --- Beer merged from original tick of Umenishiki Blanche on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:05 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. Umenishiki Biere Blanche, 5%, on tap at Bungalow for 600 yen. A slightly opaque gold pour with a thin foamy head. Wow, the nose on this is just a butt load of coriander. The aroma is just too much, pepper & coriander maybe a hint of orange peel struggling to be noticed among the spices. Nice smooth mouthfeel, soft, silky & light. The taste isn’t so excessively spiced with peppercorns, coriander & fruity orange peel playing among the wheat notes. Much nicer taste than àroma, though after awhile the nose became milder. A nicely made wit.

Nose of banana, coriander, and mild citrus. Deep cloudy golden color with a fine but sturdy-looking head. Spicy banana flavor, citrus, rich wheat. Relatively flavorful and rich. Slightly flowery at first, then deep banana, then sour, citrus finish. Very well put together. Relatively big mouthfeel, enjoyable for winter. Better than expected. A nice wit without the faults of so many: neither over-spiced nor over-sweet.
