Tap at Craft Beer Market Awajicho. Dark brown colour, small golden head. Aroma is interesting, bit funky, touch of smoke, liquorice, aniseed, leather. Taste is nice. Wouldn't immediately say chocolate, quite bitter, liquorice again, fruity punch. Quite a mix, with chocolate very low in the mix.

Small glass on draft at Beer House Craft Man. Black with tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, oats, caramel. Tastes of dark and milk chocolates, roast, oats, light dark fruit. Medium body with a dry finish.

609 yen for 10oz  at Bungalow. Nice dark black pour with reddish tints around the edges of the glass & a thick creamy tan head-a great looking beer. The aroma is chocolate with toffee notes. Wow, quite a rich beer. Thick, viscous oily mouthfeel with a strong toffee, figs, plum & chocolate taste. This is the nicest beer I have had from Kinshachi. Really good stuff. I may be overrating this as it was far beyond my expectations... I need to drink it again side by side with a different top stout to judge it accurately...

Black with a deep beige head. Chocolate, molasses, roasted malts, dark fruits in the aroma. Full, thick, syrupy body. Light roasted malts, chocolate, some light berries, light smoke. Pretty solid, actually, but it’s not amazing. Still, I wouldn’t mind having it again.

Bottled, thanks TimE! Realy black with rich off-white head. There’s tart soy sauce and a bit of chocolate. Spritzy with above medium body. Licorice and soy lingers. Feels a bit bold and disharmonious.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Creamy aroma of burnt wood, smoke, dark chocolate, a bit of coffee, and roasted malts. Solid black with a great tan head. Very smooth, powerful flavor, burnt, with coffee more than chocolate, wood and smoke and alcohol. Plus some cream in there too. Very smooth and thick and creamy. Sweetness and burntness balance each other well. Not quite imperial, but tasty as hell.

Pitch black color with nice dark brown head. Nose is all about huge bitter dark chocolate with faint hints of espresso. Med-full bodied, but a bit one-dimensional bitter dark chocolate notes in mouth, but some espresso and nuttiness is there as well. Well balanced and the finish has a long bitterness that I love in Imperial Stouts. Not going to win for depth, but very enjoyable.
