20/8/2023. Bottle shared by The Blackhaddock. Pours hazy pale golden orange with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, malt, grass, touch tropical and herbal. Fairly sweet with moderate bitterness and a touch of tart. Moderate body, oily, spritzy carbonation. Quite okay.

330ml bottle shared with blackhaddock in his beer cave. Misty golden amber appearance, good white head. Bit of a herbal bitter side to this, settling somewhat with a distant sweetness coming into view. Ok overall.

21st June 2023, new region and rare beer tasting with minutemat (and a sample for Grumbo) at my place. Thanks cyclist Shirley for the 330ml pull-tap bottle of this: BB 12th August 2023. Fairly clean golden body, white crust. Decent enough Pilsner, some light bitterness tempered by a solid malty base, nothing to get excited about, but it's a new regional rate for all three of us.

Tap at a sake place in Shinbashi. Haven’t really seen any Umenishiki beers on tap before. Pours golden with a fluffy white top. Nice fresh grassy hops that are covering beautifully crisp malty base. Quite good bitterness there, surprisingly well-crafted, decent pilsner.

Bottle from Daiei. Nice bready malt and biscuit with a touch of floral clover notes. Grainy with nice malt body and balanced. Light peppery hops on the finish. Really not bad, but not as hoppy as I like my pils. Still a solid beer.

On tap at the Best Beer Selection, March 2011, Osaka. A very hoppy Pilsner with very nice malt character as well. Grainy with biscuits. Nicely bitter finish that lasts long, though more balanced than previously. Nicely done and interesting enough, especially the finish, which is very bold, especially for Japan. Nice fruit as well. A step up from the old version.
