Tap at CBM jimbocho. Quite dark. Nice malty sweetness. Light fruitiness. Sweet caramel. Good stuff, bit uninspiring, but nice. Little bit cheesy so extra marks.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks mom for this bottle! Cloudy amber-brown. Aroma is overripe fruits, yeast, caramel, smokiness. Sweetish flavor with toast, caramel, some nuts, nice smokiness. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Deep russet color. The nose is very muted and boring. Lots of cherries, chocolate and apricot notes in the mouth, full bodied but under hopped. Not that well balanced, but depth wasn’t bad.

Tap at TBE Brewing. Persimmon, peach and apricot on the nose with some caramel notes. Medium body with an astringent wet dog flavor on the palate. Cardboard and ash. Scratchy mold-like finish. Tap at Grillman, Nagoya. Dark amber color, medtium-sized beige head. Aroma has caramel and sweet berries. Front has caramel and forest berries. Leading to quite watery finish. Sweetish and a bit home-brewish.

On tap at the Kyoto 2014 Zest Fest, Kure alt cloudy brownish red, big malty sweet nose. Medium bodied, sweet malty nutty taste, somewhat light. Caramel, malty, zesty flavor. Ok.

Draught at the brewpub. Not overly sweet, not too complex. Finishes dry. Decent alt. On tap at the Microbrewers’ Festa in Hiroshima, 2008: 5/3/6/4/12. Big caramel nose and flavor. Rather fruity as well. Rather light bodied and easy to drink. Decent enough, though not very special.
