Deliberately designed to reflect the former ‘proper’ qualities of Burton-style beers -meaning that pale and crystal malt are combined with British hops to achieve a complex, amber beer.

Cask at the White Swan JDW, Solihull. Poured a clear amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is malt, light sweet citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, malt, light sweet fruit, toffee, yeasty, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. The best cask bitter I’ve had in a long while.
