We love beasts of lore. Unicorns, Dragons, and untold combinations therein. When it came time to name our epic Russian Imperial Stout, it only made sense for an epic fantasy beast to become the namesake. Thus was born the Blaecorn Unidragon: part Black Unicorn, part Soul Dragon, and the ultimate mythical beast. This rich and complex brew was designed to improve with age, with aggressive hops and an intense dark malt bill that fill this Russian Imperial Stout with intense flavors and a full body.

Small, beige-brown head over virtually black beer. Coffee, cacao & USA-hops... ehh, good! Dry hoparoma, intense roasting aromas, green herbs, and hot metal slug. Sweetish and very roasted-bitter, carbonation and roasted grains lending a point of acidity. Roasted coffeebeans. Finish shows some alcoholic sweetness, and obvious alcoholwarming. Viscously slick & oily - but lacking aftertaste. A bomb, certainly, and equally unsubtle - lacking complexity.

On tap at TJ’s Everyday, Paoli, PA - 25/05/12. Solid black colouration with a medium mocha head. Roasted malt nose with an alcohol whiff, not too much else. Roasted malts in the taste, slightly charred and burnt a lot of booze in there! Medium to full bodied, more carbonation that I’d have expected. Alcohol isn’t balanced enough for me, all booze and malt!

Opaque black color, small brown head. Coffee and licorice in the nose, nice toastyness. Full-bodied. Lots of coffee in the flavor, licorice, warming alcohol. Liquerish and powerful. Good.

Bottled at PBF. Very black, miniscule head. Aroma of extremely roasted coffee and grapefruit. Sweet with drying heavily roasted malt. Clean, hard mouthfeel. Soap and coffee. Powerful but harsh. Inky bitter finish. Less is sometimes more.

650ml bottle shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus. Pitch black opaque color, medium sized off-white to beige head, fair lacing. Smell roasted malts, coffee. Taste malts, roasted malts, coffee, bitter, dark chocolate and the bitterness from dark grape-peel. Very nice, very bitter, lots of roastyness in the finish. So very good. Medium to full body and carbonation. So so good.

66cl bomber, @ Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels.
