Kölsch, just like Altbier and Weizen is one of the only traditional ales left in Germany. Originally brewed in the city of Koln, our interpretation comes clean and crisp with hints of fruit (apple, pear) and honey. This style of beer is all about being consumed fresh. A brewmaster’s favourite.

Can from the brewery. Last case from the batch, so not as fresh as could be. Deep gold with a bit of haze and a low, thin head. Crackery, bready malt nose with some lemony, herbal hops. Bready, slightly sweet malt, a touch of doughy yeast, lemon and herbs. Crisp, dry, lightly bitter finish that is nicely peppery and prickly. Clean and crisp. Very nice. Would like to try it fresher.

A golden kolsch with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy hops, light mineral notes, light chalky notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with light chalky character, light German hops, pleasant. On tap at Lupulus.
