The first Imperial Stouts were high-alcohol concoctions brewed for Czar Peter the Great of Russia. Our own Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout absorbs the tannins of Oola Distiller’s Bourbon Barrels for a full year, resulting in huge roasted malt, chocolate mousse, coconut and ripe cherry flavors that may leave you feeling like a bit of a monarch yourself!

bottle - 2024 vintage shared with Dad and Brother. Very nice - on the lighter more drinkable side of Imperial Stouts - pretty and warming

2024 bottle drunk 8/28/25.
Dark, clear. Small, tan head.
Really well-aged nose shows nothing aggressive yet has plentiful spicy bourbon, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and light fudge. All well-balanced, with no alcohol or excessive sugar.
Light roast, but minimal and a lightly fudgey body, though far from syrupy. Well-attenuated but still has a chew to it that is satisfying. Rich but well-aged bourbon shows no aggressive edges and alcohol is nowhere near to be found.

On tap at the brewery. Dark brown, almost black with beige head. Nice chocolate, bourbon, some vanilla, cocoa, medium sweetness. Complex, yet somehow balanced. Nice.
