Huber Bock has traditionally provided a creamy texture and rich flavor to beer lovers all over Wisconsin. It has a fine, malty body like the bocks of southern Germany, but is drier than the typical bocks of Bavaria. Huber Bock is made with Brewer's Two-Row Malt, Carapils Malt, Black Malt and domestic hops.

Location: Can from State Line, 11/8/12

Aroma: The nose has some roasted and burnt malts, caramel, toast, and a little raisin
Appearance: This one pours a dark brown color with a fizzy beige head and some light lace
Flavor: The taste is quite a bit more sweet then the nose would suggest, but otherwise very similar
Palate: The body is medium, though it is a touch watery, the finish is fairly lengthy and sticky
Overall Impression: This wasn't an amazing beer by any means, but it has some interesting characteristics to it. Overall though, it's just too sweet and too sticky for my personal tastes.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark nut brown with a slight ruby hue. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel, some black liquorish, and a touch of bourboney wood smoke. Taste is medium sweet. Loads of caramel, sweet chocolate, coffee and wood. Medium bodied with a thick and somewhat sticky texture. Soft carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, great! Much better than I thought it would be, considering the brewery.

16 ounce can from State Line. Pours a clear dark red-brown color with a large frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of raisin and toasted grain. A bit reminiscent of chocolate. The taste is sweet malts, grain, raisin. Thin-medium bodied. Decent.

33cl bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin head and a few glints of red. The nose has chocolate, butterscotch and biscuits. The taste has chocolate, honey and a strawberry note on the end. The palate is medium bodied with a reasonably creamy texture in the middle section and a fairly clean finish. Overall, although wishy-washy, the dark malts do a good job of disguising its faults.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep red-brown color with a big off white head. The aroma is sweet and malty and gets odder the further into the beer you get. Definitely a budget beer, a little thin on the palate. That being said, the taste isn’t half bad, considering some of the other trash that Minhas puts out. Somewhat shwarzy, somewhat dunkle-like. Never threatening world class qualities, this is way below par for the style, somewhat approaching acceptability.

Bottle. Deep dark amber color, not much head. Aroma is caramel and roast. Great traditional bock flavor. For $10 a 12 pack, this is the best beer value in the US!
