12 ounce bottle. Pours a translucent cola brown color capped by a small creamy beige head. Caramel malt nose redolent of marinated beef. Sweet light roasted malt flavor has a creamy mouthfeel. Lots of sweet caramel and toasted bread flavor in midtaste. Subtle hop bitterness in finish. Lacks the depth and complexity of most German bocks, but good nonetheless.

Bottle from Millets Farm near Abingdon. It’s brown with a light fizz and a thin beige head. There’s caramel and brown sugar throughout. It’s very sweet and the alcohol is very evident. Felt like it was dissolving my teeth. There’s no real off notes in it- but then if you ate brown sugar by the spoonful you wouldn’t get any off notes. Just too sweet for me I’m afraid.

Bottle. Dark brown with a loose beige head. Aroma of malt bread, some chocolate, a little plasticy. Very sweet but mostly pretty clean. Bread, prunes, slight roast. Does dry out a bit, no bitterness. Pleasant enough.
