An ale brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberry juice. Fort has a Belgian-style base, then we follow a similar fermentation process to the one we use on beers like 120 Minute IPA and World Wide Stout.
Fort is an excellent candidate for cellaring. Grab a few bottles, enjoy one now and lay the others down for a few years. Want to know when the Fort you find was bottled? Check the 'Bottled On' date on the neck of each bottle.
Fort is also an excellent food beer. Our favorite pairings include anything chocolate or a nice piece of duck.
The Fort label art was designed by our rock-and-roll friend Tara McPherson. Tara also did the label art for our Chateau Jiahu and our 2012 Seasonal Prints and Uber-Tap Handle. Can you tell we kinda love her work?!
Admin Note: Alcohol fluctuates on this one (16% - 17% ABV)

Bottle thanks to a generous BA. Pours a cloudy orange chestnut with no head whatsoever. Aroma is slightly tart raspberry with a strong rubbing/vodka alcohol note. Flavor began with a bit of tart and sweet raspberries but a very strong vodka like alcohol note takes over for a very unpleasant finish. I know it is 18 percent alcohol but it is undrinkable in my opinion.

Tap at Churchkey. Clear pink, edge head. Aroma of rubbing alcohol, fruit, rose wine. Strong alcohol taste that overpowers the fruit. Resembles a champagne cocktail with a shot of something added. Not sure I would want to try this one again.

On tap at Toronado
Appearance: Clear reddish/amber with a small white head and some lacing
Aroma: Raspberry’s, sweet malts
Taste: Raspberry’s, sweet malts, sugars
Very sweet on the palate, but the alcohols are pretty well hidden.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Gilly's, 1/29/10
Aroma: Lots of fruit (raspberries obviously) and lots of booze
Appearance: Hazy copper-amber color with almost no head
Flavor: Taste is very sweet, some tartness, not much balance
Palate: Medium body, somewhat syrupy, and quite hot
Overall Impression: I'm not sure this one is really my style, I found it to be both too sweet and too hot. Maybe it would have been better with a little age, but based on this tasting, I'm not a huge fan.

26th September 2008. A bottle born on my birthday (7th Sept). Intense malty ale with a blizzard of raspberry brandy flavours. Finishes warming and spirity. The raspberries are nicely judged. Unique tasty beer which I indulgently finished by myself and which provided the foundation of a messy boxing day!

Draft at the brewpub: Weak vinegary alcohol nose. Clear red, headless. Alcohol evident, raspberries underneath but palatable. Buttery finish, but it works. Tastes fine, but not beery enough for my taste.

on tap at redlight redlight in Orlando, pours light pink with a thin off white/light purple head. Red fruit and alcohol nose. This has the consistency of oil, very smooth in nature, but too much semi-sweet raspberry and alcohol going on for me. Glad I tried it.

2008. Pours gold into a snifter. White head recedes to hug rim. Super elastic bubble plastic aromas. Sweet hot raspberry caramel upfront turning to a lasting nose clearing raspberry finish. Similar to kirschwasser.

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting - Pours orange with a one finger head. It has a big, boozy raspberry aroma. The taste is lots of raspberries and lots of alcohol. It’s sweet and hot on the palate. I thought it needed some more malt character though. One guy at the tasting described this beer as "The raspberries... they’re burning!" It’s kind of a ridiculous beer. Interesting. Strange brew, indeed.

Bottle. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Not much raspberry. Moderate bitter flavor. Average gfinish. Creamy palate. Way too alcoholic.
