8/VIII/25 - on tap, shared @ Vetter’s Alt Heidelberger brewery (Heidelberg, DE) nearing the end of our Schwarzwald holiday, BB: n/a (2025-765)
Clear gold blond beer (according to modern interpretation it’s more like a festbier than a märzen), creamy white head, falls down quickly, leaving a bit of lacing in the glass. Aroma: malty, grains, sweet impression, a hint of banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, grains, a bit sweet, slightly bitter, some cow fodder. Aftertaste: a hint of carmel, malty, a little bitter, ok, nothing special but decent enough.

Enjoyed on a gorgeous early fall day in the lovely city of Heidelberg...at Vetters of course. Appearance is a cloudy amber gold with a thin white head. Aroma is light malt, not too syrupy like other marzen brews I have had. Taste goes down with more of a malty finish, but retains more of light lager qualities. This one is just decent and there are better brews at this place for sure.
